USING COURSE SEARCHThank you for choosing the Uni-UK course search we hope you find it useful in your search for the ideal course. Uni-UK is designed to help you get started on your course search by narrowing down the field, which currently consists of over 50,000 courses offered by more than 300 institutions. By the time you have finished you will have a more manageable number! You will spend the next 3 to 5 years at University. It is time well spent choosing your course carefully! Please check everything with UCAS and the Institution before making a final decision. There are a number ways of using the Uni-UK course search. University Name - Search by University Name. Subject Name - This is the most flexible search option. Choose some key words and look for courses that contain each word. For example if you want to study Management then you will find courses across a diverse range of disciplines. Save your search results - If you are registered you can save your results (to register click here). You may well have over 100 courses saved but that is significantly down from the 50,000 available when you started. Go to the saved courses and delete any of those which you don't want to research further. Return to your saved results and click on the link to go to the Universities' websites so you can read more about that course. Useful Tips You will probably need to do a number of searches before you narrow down the field significantly. Start by doing a very general search and then use the options to narrow down the choices.
You do not have to select the full subject in course name search. Type in a string of letters and the search will identify courses containing the letters you have entered, e.g. if you type in "fre" our database will return over 1,500 courses ranging from "French" to "Marine and Freshwater Biology" Other resources at Uni-UK Hopefully by now you have identified a number of courses. Why not go to our Freshers' Forums and see if anyone is asking questions or trying to meet people who are investigating the same universities. If not start your own thread - talking to other students in the same situation can be very useful. If you want to find out what current students think, read what they have to say in the Subjects Forum or the Universities Forum (here the students will be talking about their University, the town and the nightlife). The forums have only just come live but if you use them, so will others. Good luck! The course search will get you well on your way. Although we have undertaken many hours of research, the institutions regularly change the courses they have on offer and their entry requirements. We keep the information as up-to-date as possible, but cannot guarantee its accuracy (If you find any inaccuracies please let us know at coursesearch@uni-uk.co.uk). The course search is your first step. This does not replace the detailed research you need to undertake, but it will narrow down the available options. More data can be found on UCAS at http://www.ucas.co.uk and the Universities' websites (see links on the course search results).
